I noticed the BH's at Crufts were very loose in their skin.  Dudley doesn't have and skin folds but I've noticed that since I got him (last July) he's started to develop the folds under his neck and is getting one going down his chest.  I know that he wasn't taken very good care of at his first 2 homes.  I'm curious if the breed develops the saggy skin as they age (he's 2) or if it's a health issue.  OR if he's just built how he's built and skin folds are there from birth.  :)

Ah somebody else with a Dudley :)

Mine is a little Lab girl who was called MB but has since been rename Dudley or 86% as that is her hip score :)

If your Dudley is the same as our Dudley then he will be a very special dog ;)

Yes, Dudley is a very 'special' boy...LOL!  I had no experience with BH's until he moved in...was sort of put off by him at first but after a few months he grew on me with all of his goofiness.  :)

I think they do get baggier as they mature.  Personally I like the Basset Atesian Normand better as they look like a Basset that has had a tummy tuck and face lift, having more ground clearnce and better fitting skin, much more like some of the working Bassets I ahve seen at Houndshow.
