
Yes, I should have described colostrum as 'first milk' rather than 'foremilk' (it's been a busy day!). When I was breastfeeding I was told it was the other way about - the first milk in a feed was the thirst-quenching bit and the creamy, filler-upper milk came at the end.
In cows, colostrum is bright orange!, and if you don't strip out all the milk first you don't get the cream.
