I took Luke by car to one of Northampton's main dog walking parks this morning, leaving his mum, Maggie at home. (havn't dared try them together since unfortunate experience in January...) We had a lovely time, but as we made our way back to the car, Luke on lead, another medium sized cross-breed kept dancing round him, and wouldn't go away. His owner tried to catch him, which was rather difficult, as the dog was collarless and the owner didn't have a lead!! In the end I told the bloke, "don't worry, our car's here"...put my hand in my pocket for the keys ( house and car) which weren't there....help! The other owner managed to pick his dog up and finally disappeared, whilst I scrabbled about checking pockets etc, all to no avail. Fortunately I had my mobile, so had the embarrassment of having to ring OH at work. He had to go home & get spare car key, then come to the park and rescue me. He was very good about it, considering...:) :) :)
The other good news is that we have card protection insurance, which includes a key tag instructing people what to do with keys they find. When I eventually arrived home I rang them, and thankfully the keys had been found, they gave me the person's number, and I was able to collect them this afternoon! Hooray! :) :) :)
