as some know I left the board a year ago. But Im back with a vengance.
So my question is what dogs do you own, is it your first? Do you show? Do you do agility training? Really just trying to get to know some of your good selves.

Hello Emma, I have a Westie and a Weimaraner, huge contrast but they get on brilliant! I dont show, just family pets. My first dog was also a Westie! Try and train them myself, its worked so far with the Westie (shes 4) and am now eventually getting there with the Weimaraner (hes 1 next month).

Hi Emma, Glad to have you back, although I think I joined just less than a year ago so this must be our first meeting!
Anway, I'm Emily and we currently have 3 dogs(my mam reckons no more but we'll have to see...!), they are 2 Hungarian Vizsla bitches calles Chloe, who'll be 7 in July, and Kayla who will be 3 in June. And I am also the very proud owner of a 15 weeks old Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla called Idõ(prounced e-doe) :) He's absolutely gorgeous and a perfect pup really, doesn't bite/nip, asked to go to the toilet, sleeps throughout the night and already knows loads of 'tricks'...alright brag over!!!
Chloe, who was our first dog-we got her when I was 13, is one of these dogs who likes nothing more than a nice long walk followed by an afternoon in front of the fire, we tried a bit of showing over the summer but she didn't enjoy so now she just lays about being a bit grumpy..who can blame her with Kayla and Idõ around?!!
Kayla, who is Chloe's niece, is very different, she's into everyhting, still, loves to show and considering we only had our first show in October she has done very well. We are attednign an agility day next month for beginners so that'll be somehting else for us to do! She also loves the long walks, especially when she finds a nice crispy dead rabbit or pile of horse poo to eat!!
Idõ, well what can I say, he's such a lovely pup and we plan to show him, he's already learning how to stand and move nicely, I'm very proud of him already. I also want us to have a go at a bit of gundog training, keeping the breed dual purpose, we have our first novice training day in May so I'm lokking forward to that.
Thats about it really, oh in addition to the dogs I have 7 rats, 3 of which are from a litter I raised myself, therefore they love dogs-I'm convinced Kayla thinks they are dogs, she always smells their bums whenever she can!! Dogs, ey, where would we be without them?!!!!

We have a 1yr old sheltie called Leo, hes my first dog on my own with b/f but with my parents we had a rescue dog called Bonnie and we looked after my Nanas CKCS when she died.
We dont do showing as leo is too big for the breed standard but ive been trying to teach him some of the dancing dog moves! - Think he would be better off if they had canine 5 a side teams tho as he is the best footballing dog i have ever seen
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 16.03.05 15:00 UTC
My mum has a 9 month old Sheltie, who is very tall, looks like a rough collie.

Hi, I have 2 Rottweilers, Thai my bitch is nearly 3 (April 4th) and Bali is nearly 1 year (4th April).  I do not show the Mum Thai but I have recently got in to showing with Bali and we love it - I used to do agility with my GSD's however they are now sadly at Rainbow Bridge and I used to attend a regular training class, however since moving to the Midlands I have not yet found a training class to attend with Thai so we are working on it.  I also have 2 (minute) cats that are brother and sister and a huge tank full of tropical fish :)

What dog's / pets do you own?  I only joined Sept last year so I am afraid I do not know anything about you :(
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 16.03.05 15:58 UTC
I used to have a red and white boxer called Bradley, who I sadley departed with. Ive currently just put a deposite down fo a white boxer, who hopefully wont steal bassett hounds like Bradley did.
- By EdwardsWend [in] Date 16.03.05 16:10 UTC
Hi Emma
My name is Wendy, I have a Border Terrier called Edward, who will be 21 weeks old this weekend. He is absolutely my life, had him a week before Xmas and just can't imagine my world without him in it!  I am self employed, and therefore take Edward to the office everyday, where he gets so much attention its untrue. My office is in a communal building with people coming and going all day. Such a hard life for a little chap eh?

I too, am leaving the male human element out of my life, just had far too much grief to go there again. Doing much better on my own, I do recall reading 'your' posts last year.... but hey a lot changes in a year and we can get through it all, the support on here for posters is just unreal. Have only recently registered and become a member, but as already stated have been reading these boards for quite a while.
Anyway, look forward to hearing stories about your new baby.... congrats!!!!
Wendy

I have just burst into a rendition of "Getting To Know You" from The King & I :D :D

Emma - hope you remember me!!  I'm Hayley and am owned by a 3 year old boxer dog called Glazby.  We don't show or do agility unless you call tripping over the dog toys left on the stairs and still managing to land on my feet agility!!

Glazby prefers the more laid back approach to life - lay back on the sofa with Mum and a packet of crisps infront of the tele!!

I'm really pleased that you've got through things and are back with us and soon to be with a new addition to the family!!  :D
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 16.03.05 16:16 UTC
Hayley how can I forget the support you gave me. You were a tower of strength and got me through some very dark moments.

I hope Glazby is well and sill bouncing.
- By Charanda [de] Date 16.03.05 16:19 UTC
I'm sure all the dark moments are behind you now hun!!  I'm driving now and so we can hopefully meet up sometime when the ickle pup is bigger - I'd love to meet him!!

See you haven't even got him yet and I'm excited!!  I just love boxer puppies!!!  :D

Glazby is great - its funny that we've noticed he's matured over the past six months or so though he's still as mad as ever!!

Looking forward to chatting again :D
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 16.03.05 16:24 UTC

I'm Lucy and i have a border collie,(Megan, 3yrs) a golden retriever (Ellie-nearly 2) and a new rescue addition of an ESS called Murphy (9mths). I dabble in agility with Meg but haven't yet got the confidence to compete, she would be fine, shes just severly "handler-capped"!
I really can't believe it has been a year already! Good luck with new pup, have you decided on a name?
- By Blue Date 16.03.05 22:57 UTC

Hi Emma

I have three crazy setters, two Irish Keevy 3.5 yrs and Brianna 14 months and one Gordon Maddie almost 2. I was registered before you stopped posting, but only just I think. I show two of my girls as my eldest doesn't like showing. I'm going to my first show for ages at the weekend with my baby. Her back end went completely crazy ie cow hocked, pigeon toed, both at different times  lol and was carrying her tail way up over her back. She has eventually caught up with herself and everything seems to have solved itself :D fingers crossed.  Nice to see you back and have lots of fun with your new baby, have you been thinking about names? Are you going to do agility or anything with him?
Hope you have lots and lots of fun with your baby and keep us all posted on her he is getting on!!! :D :D :D :D
- By jazzywoo Date 16.03.05 21:42 UTC

Hi Emma lovely to meet you my name is Sonja, I have 4 dogs Mia, a black lab who is 8 mths a little honey, got her from a good breeder of gundogs. and I'm training her to be a gundog with help I must add.Jonah is a big chocolate Lab 3yrs (almost) and we've done lots of obedience although you wouldn't think it sometimes, but he is an extremely loving dog (no need to wash my face) he was a rescue (got him when he was almost 1), Lottie is a lurcher or shall I say LADY Lottie she is very sweet and gentle she is a german shepard/greyhound also a rescue,(got her when she was 8 weeks old) then comes Daisy a labrador/ doberman  the Matron of the troop she is so good she would do anything to please and is so clever, (got her when she was about 12 weeks old) ,she had been mistreated! In Jan my sweetheart went to rainbow bridge when he was only 11, his name was Stig (he was also a rescue, a true heinz 57, had him from 8 weeks old) and he understood every thing I said to him, I am still very sad about losing him.
All the best Sonja
