Our 8 month old staff dog has bald patches on his body, this started around his eyes when he was around 5 months, we have called the breeder on numerous occasions and they have advised that it is normal whilst his big teeth are coming through, he has in the past 2/3 days got patches on the top of his back, but they seem to go bald straight away no sign of it coming out bit by bit, we have him booked to see the vet as i am sure its not Normal as advised, however jsut wondering if anyone else has experinced this. We feed him on bakers complete and he is a normal nutter as to be expected for a staff, has lots of walks and cuddles, gererally very happy. the bald patches do not seem to itch and we are using front line on him and have been since he was tiny.

Firstly you are doing right. It is not normal and the vet is the best place to go.
Secondly...It might be worth changing your dogs food(not related to the hair loss).Bakers is full of colourings and preservatives and is really NOT a good quality food.....many dogs react badly to all the additives...its like feeding your child on 3 meals a day of smarties!!!!

It is normal to loose some hair around teething time, but id pop him to the vets incase it is something else.
Good luck.

you're right to go to the vet if you're concerned, our Staff doesnt lose hair like that and didnt when she was teething either. Let us know what they say

Snap, I've got four staffs and the only time one of them had any 'thin' patches was after a litter. Hope all goes well :)
