Its a sad sad world. That at times I can't comprehend at all.
On tv and radio news today over the weekend a house in West Mids Coventry to be exact was broken into and although nothing it seems was stolen (according to the news) the burgulars stuffed the family cat into the washing machine then switched it on killing the cat by either drowning or from terror.
What is the world coming to the police said one of the most horrific things they have seen in burgulary cases.
The family are said to be heartbroken also the thieves also let out a hamster it seems - don;t know much about that.
Sad.

Thats horrible how could someone do stuff like that
Mary

How awful, there are some very sick people about,it sickens me.

I should like to put the perpetrator of this wicked deed in an industrial washing machine - preferably on a fast spin cycle.

The poor thing was just 8 months old. Called Tilly. I felt physically sick listening to it on the radio. A policeman on Radio WM said he's dealt with several murders in his time but this is just beyond belief. The radio presenter asked him if he was comparing this to murder, the policeman replied "animals can not defend themselves"
They seem to think the hamster was let loose so that the other cat might kill it!

Thats where I heard it WM.

Isn't it awful Kazz. :( Franksy interviewed a police officer & this policeman just couldn't believe it & was confused as to the reason for it!
----I love WM ~ I'm a huge Danny Kelly fan :)----
Id love to meet someone who did this type of thing. 1 thing I know for sure and is Id serve a jail sentence. Be nice to let them experience some of the surrering they enjoy so much.

In 1990 I co-founded our local Cats Protection Legue (as it was known then). At one point I personally had 32 cats and kittens in care. You would cry if I told you some of the circumstances in which I found these animals. Rescues included, retrieving from a bonfire, 5 kittens in a plastic bag, kitten used as cricket ball. The cat in the microwave did not survive...... and the favorite... a firework tied to the tail....... not forgetting Harris, my favourite to this day, yes I kept him, his front legs were deliberately snapped at 4 weeks old and left on a busy road. One of his legs required amputation, but he was so funny, he used to dig with the stump, Megan mothered him during his recovery. OK need to stop now.
kayc well done to poeple like yourself. It must be terribly upsetting but also very rewarding. We can imagine some of the sights youve seen.

Hi My two cats were dumped in a black bin liner in a multi storey car park - obviously not meant to be found. The female now Cleo was fine, the male now Oscar had had his whiskers pulled out and cigarette burns all over his tiny body. :( They are in their 20's now and he still won't go near anyone who smokes/smells of cigarettes.
And Smudgley Can't quite get into Danny Kelly's way of things he is alright in small doses. I do like Franksy though and Molly Green who is on till 6.00am weekday mornings when I am driving to work.

I get to listen to most of the daytime presenters as I drive such a lot. I like them all, but I just think Danny is fab, I've spoken to him on air a couple of times & I just really like him.

I've spoken to Bob Brolly and to Ed Doolan. Odd to think we are possibly listening at the same time isn't it?
Hmm I take it your on about radio . lol.
Thats a great age youve cared for them well. Bet the (person?)who did that to them wont expect them to be alive today. We have 2 tom cats aged 9 and 6 1 we took in as a stray and a female shes nearly 14. My eldest daughter who is 17 and the elder cat are best friends and she often cries about her age. She keeps saying what will I do when she dies.
