I live in Australia and at present own three Lhasas including Queenslands first, and only Australian Grand Champion ARLANI RHAMBAM MERCIMAAM, Rambo to his friends. I have not shown for the last 18 months due to illness, but have two nice younsters to come out shortly, both from AMESEN KENNELS in Sydney, New South Wales
I never keep more than six dogs, and once a dog is in residence here, here they stay! Rambo is 10 years old and still looks great, but has to defer to our oldest inhabitant, a Chinese Crested Hairless who at 16 years rules the roost.
I am searching for a good quality puppy or youngster, to be campaigned in Queensland, with visits to the other states for their Royal Shows and Club Specialties. My dogs are kept in excellent coat, and live as family.
Due to the distance from the uk, we will be looking at approx AU$1500.00 for Airfair(I can fly cheaper!!), another AU$100.00 for Quarantine, one month at AU$30.00 per day, so cannot afford to spend huge money. Last time i heard of a particular English dog for sale, i made contact and was told the price was English Pounds 9,000.00, which equates to almost AU$25,000.00 !
There is no way i could afford that, but i can promise that if anyone is prepared to sell a really promising puppy or youngster, it would be for sure a great advert for their Kennels. Recently Australia has had imports from both Norway and Netherlands, and all have been clipped off because their owners could not win with them. Therefore no one out here will ever trust those kennels. Lhasas are becoming popular in the showring here as their glamour catches the eye.
As to sex, I am not really fussed, I guess I would prefer a male, since they tend to have that little edge on presence---ming you if someone has a spare Fresno they don't want, a bitch would be fine! My only problem about having a bitch is that i really don't like breeding, since i am ultra fussy as to where any of my puppies go. I have not bred a litter for nearly three years, and my young bitch  MAY have a litter in 2006, also may not.
Sorry to have rambled on, but i want to give any prospective seller an idea of who we are and how we are.  I will await eagerly for any replies to this. I can be contacted by email the address being  jonjorj@yahoo.com                   sincerely, john

Have you tried contacting the UK club?  They may be able to help you.

If you contact the secretaries of the breed clubs listed at the bottom of the Breed Standard they'll be happy to give you a list of reputable breeders.

(I've never heard of a dog being sold for £9000! Maybe that was they're way of saying they didn't want to export a dog at all. I would expect a price more in the region of £500.)

Most reputable breeders would only charge the going rate for a puppy plus expenses to do with the export (health certificates, extra innoculations and paperwork etc).  I wouldn't expect to pay much more than what Jean Genie has stated which is the price of many breeds as  puppies.
