I will be breeding my first litter soon and I would like some information about putting endorsements on the puppies, I have been told by other breeders that this is the responsible thing to do, to ensure that my pups go to good pet homes and dont end up in puppy farms etc. Hpw do you go about getting the endorsements put on and how much does it cost please? hope you can help

Hi Joanne, it doesn't cost anything to put the endorsements on, and all you need do is put 'R' and 'X' in the box alongside the proposed puppy names when you register them.

To make sure that the endorsements "stick" (it seems to be fashionable for unscrupulous wannabee puppy farmers to challenge the endorsements with the KC) make sure that your puppy buyers have signed a contract of sale which clearly states that they are aware of the conditions under which they have bought the pup. If possible, get an independent witness to sign the contracts too. Better to be safe than sorry!
