The classification for the Limit class at Crufts is exactly the same as all the other Championship Shows in that it is for dogs that have not won more than 7  Limit classes at Championship shows  & that have not won more than 2 CCs

Obviously the added Crufts qualification of having a stud book number or having been placed 1st to 3rd at a Championship Show in a qualifying class

sorry
I know this will sound thick ( comlete numpty)

Is this as in they have to win so many shows i.e points over the year in order to qualify to compete.

Sorry complete novice. Trying to learn I know woody's mum and dad have competed today. So just trying to understand the differant classes

Sorry again

Don't worry, it can be very confusing!

To qualify to be shown at Crufts a dog has to have been awarded certain places at other Championship shows during the previous year - generally 1st, 2nd or 3rd in particular classes. Just being placed 3rd in a single Post Graduate class (for example) at a show where Challenge Certificates were on offer for the breed is enough to qualify.

To qualify for Crufts they only have to be placed 1st. 2nd, or 3rd in Minor Puppy, puppy. junior(yearling in some breeds), post graduate, Limit, or Open or 1st in veteran at  a championship show with CC's if the breed has CC's once If it is a breed that does not have any CC's on offer at any Championship shows(classed as rare breeds)the qualifications I think are the same

If the dog has a stud book number they are qualified for life & the award of a stud book number depends on what band the dogs are in(from A to E)

This is of course only for the breed classes to qualify to be invited to enter for Cruft the dog has to win a Obedience CC !Any dog winning the Crufts Championships becomes an Ob Champion even if they have only won one Ob CC before ! Hence the only Crufts Champions are the dog & Bitch thet win the Crufts Obedience Championships as they are takning on the best dogs in the country The GSD that won today was making his first appearance & is now an Ob Ch 1st GSD for years to win the Crufts Ob Ch

So basically, if they are stud book registered, with kc. Then they are eligable to compete???

Sorry, treat me like a 4 year old, I'm quite intelligent in most other things ;)

A dog must be registered with the KC to compete at shows. He must then WIN his STUD BOOK NUMBER (or other awards as stated in a previous post) to compete at Crufts :d

Limit. For dogs which have not won Three Challenge Certificates under Three different judges or seven or more First Prizes in all, at Championship Shows in Limit and Open classes, confined to the breed, whether restricted or not, at shows where Challenge Certificates where offered for the breed.

sorry  can anyone recommend any good reading, on crufts. judging classes etc.

Think I need to do some serious reading up. In order to fully understand.

Give me some ice and i'll sell it to the eskimos's.

But the more you learn about the dog world, the less u know. If u understand me

thanks again
