does anyone have any good books to suggest buying about dog behaviour?
ive jus signed onto a coape course called canine behaviour and training and would like to read as many books as possible.  The last book i read was called Dogs: a new understanding of canine origin, behaviour and evolution by raymond and lorna coppinger.
I did find the evolution bit interesting, but am more interested in behaviour problems and how they are resolved and what causes them etc etc

Hi Jenny,

You could try John Rogerson's books - I have a couple of them and have been to several seminars he's done and also one day courses and like his down to earth attitude and inspirational methods of training through studying behaviour.

Good luck,
Regards, Teri :)

Hi Jenny,

I've had mine a few years but if you go this web site http://www.apbc.org.uk there is a on-line shop so should have lots of books on there for you.  The site is the Assoc of Pet Dog Behaviourists by the way :)

Gwen Bailey's books are apparently very good too - should imagine some of hers will be on there - failing that if you google either of their names you should be able to find their web sites (Gwen's anyway, don't know if John has one).

HTH,
Regards, Teri :)
