Am looking for a young bitch, not for work but as a family pet. Rural location, children. We saw one of these recently and really liked the look of her. Any ideas? MAS (oxfordshire)

if you'd be willing to take on a rescue try www.dogpages.co.uk there are quite a few lurchers on there.

My sister had Dearhound male and greyhound bitch. They had a litter of pups and they were beautifull dogs. Its a few years ago now but yeah id try the lurcher rescue. You may not find dearhound/greyhound but something similar and you can get some lovely looking lurchers who deserve the chance of a loving home.

Failling that, there is a guy who breeds grey/deerhound crosses, however his name escapes me now, ill find out tomorrow and post it here. He advertises in countrymans weekly and i think is based in Lincolnshire.
