Hi,
I have never been to Crufts and will be going tomorrow for the first time. (cant wait!)
My friend and myself have tickets admitting one adult plus one dog. So can i take my dog with me? She wont be competing? Will we be restricted as to where we are allowed to go if i take her?? I just love to have her with me where ever possible!

You can only take your dog in if she is entered at the show or on Discover Dogs

If you have a pass you can take her but I wouldn't advise it.  Its hard enough to get round the halls without a dog.  Tomorrow is the only day I shall not be responsible for a dog and so the only day I know I will be able to get round.  It may sound like a nice idea to take your dog with you but it will be stressful for her (and you) and I would not recormend it at all.  I am not looking forward to friday and saturday where I have one dog each day of which the benching area they have I will not leave them due to bad experiance of working shpdogs and BC's where she will be benched with.  I will be with both my girls the whole day, only wandering off with them to watch a breed I want to watch.  If you truely love your dog you won't drag them round crufts when you have no-where allocated to bench them because you are exhibiting!

You also need a removal pass
plus NO dogs can leave before 4.pm
I have dogs entered but Im shopping tomorrow
show Friday and Sunday as I dont liketo drag the dogs around the NEC being trod on squashed
and generally to hot.

I wouldnt take my dog if i was you, we went last year and by lunch time you can barely move - im not taking Leo because i think it would be thoroughly unfair on him being trodden on and tripped over all day :(

You can leave before 4pm if you've completed your stint at Discover Dogs, for instance.
:)

Carolyn, I think the pass that the OP has is admit any one dog and one handler at any time.  this also removes the dog, it is the pass used for DD dogs and also special events and YKC dogs!  On this pass you don't have to stay till 4pm, dog can leave whenever!

I have 3 admit one dog and handler but also have a seperate removal order
listing the 3 dogs, the admission ticket is given up on arrival
the removal pass actually has removal pass printed on it.

Yes thats for entris of breed.  The pass I think in question Is not given up and its card (white) rather then paper I have 3 of these for my two ykc events and my brother ykc event!

I have a great idea, how about if nobody takes a dog to crufts, think how much easier it would be to get to meet people and do some shopping. Also the judges could spend more time having lunch, there would be no loosers, the drink bar supporters could have longer time to booze, and everyone could go home knowing that their dog is just as good as anyone elses.

:D  :D this sounds a perfect doggy day out ( for US, not the dogs of course !!) when and where i'll be there. I always think you need 2 days at crufts , 1 to show (or watch showing) and another to shop .

Good idea to leave her at home, walking round the stalls in the afternoon is absolute hell. You'll find out when you get there and be glad you didn't take her!

I'm going tomorrow too!  :D  Not wanting to hijack your thread, but can anyone tell me how to get from the airport to the NEC.  Someone I work with thinks I can walk as they're just next door to each other.  Is this right?
- By Bazza [gb] Date 10.03.05 11:47 UTC
Earl
Yes the airport is right next to the NEC and you will have no problems getting from one to the other.

I usually choose Thursday for shopping as it is the quietest day, but if yesterday was the quietest, I would hate to be there on Sunday!!! My breed was Sunday last year and I am sure it was no more crowded then yesterday :(
