Spaniel bowls are very good if you don't want them dipping their ears in their water/food ;-)

Agree - Spaniel bowls are great but you don't need to rush out & buy one just yet Chrissy as your pup's ears won't be that long yet. When he gets a bit older, definitely get one or two :-)

Get a bowl that there ears hang either side of, so they dont flop in the food, buffy is constantly dragging hers in what ever she can find, and believe me they really start to hum just after a few days of washing them.

They don't keep their ears out totally - the dogs still have a knack of getting them in there:rolleyes:
The thing you need to find is a bowl they can;t tip up - mine even manage to tip up spaniel bowls if they're empty!!!

Hi I would definately use a spaniel bowl as soon as its ears strart dipping in the food. My cocker spaniel used to get very sore at the bottom of her "leathers" , before the days of spaniel bowls
( I think). I was for ever washing and treating them.

Totally agree with Pam - my old girl Connie used to always find a way of dipping her ears into her bowl, especially when it contained the Sunday roast scraps. Don't you know the grub tasts better licked off the ears later on!! It is the best kind of 'doggy bag' a spaniel can get - moveable food!
All part of the fun I say!

Jabba - your Connie and my Missy must be related <G> I got her a spaniel bowl after I heard this weird slurping noise, and realised she was sucking the gravy off her ears from her dinner earlier on in the evening.......She was flicking them one at a time into her mouth for this delicacy.
