We changed our pet insurance from Pinnacle to M&S in January,we received the policy docs. on Saturday at long last, after chasing them up about it,then today we got a letter from J.Sainsbury's pet insurance saying 'we cannot process the debit card details you gave us for your pet insurance application, please ring our customer services dept. asap.'
Never having asked or applied for J.Sainsbury pet insurance, I phoned them to find out what on earth was going on and guess what?!
M&S and J.Sainsbury pet insurance are covered by the same insurers and they had inadvertantly put the 'wrong letter headed paper in the printer' and posted me an incorrect letter!
Thankfully it is all sorted out now, fingers crossed! I just hope if we are ever unfortunate enough to have to place a claim for vet fees they can get their act together and pay out correctly.
Jacqueline :)

I insured all of ours with M&S over the phone about 3 weeks ago, and have heard nothing since. Wonder what's going on?

I would say stick with the more popular ones you may pay more but then you would have peace of mind ,I would be very worried if this happened to me what would happen if unfortunately you had a claim.:(
We have been with saga for 7 years and can highly recommend them never a quibble and prompt payment and discount for more dogs and if you are not elegable for them Petplan is the next best ( IMHO )
Just a word in M & S' favour.
I had trouble getting paper work from them and they made an error in taking Direct Debits. But I have just put in a claim and received full settlement (no excess) in 7 days. I shall be recomending them.

I also insured 2 of ours with M and S. One on internet and the other by phone. I have received the first one and spoken to them Apparently they have been really busy and are working on the backlog. I was most impressed with their helpfulness and policy looks great value for money.
My dog was insured with Pet plan and they have been fantastic, they are probably happier now that my dog has died as they forked out a fortune on him (must be approx £8,000 in the 8 years that I had him).
My cats are insured with Direct Line and they are also pretty good with claims.
I currently have a claim going on with each company and am sure that Pet plan will pay promptly so that I can get closure on my loss.
With regards to my pets, I would go to a company that specialise in insurance than one that dabbles in everything...
