I am quite new to this site and do agree that people can jump down your throat very easily here. I was actually left to feel quite humiliated and embarrassed at a post I placed.... Why do think some people don't join.....? However, some excellent advice can be picked here ,of that there is no doubt.
Have you lot read through your replies, some of the content and attitude suggests that you "experienced breeders" are actually small childrenin disguise! Grow up you lot, there is a lot going on out there in the big wide world.....stop being so insular and arguing over relative trivia.Love your animals as we all do , but some of you guys need to come down off your high horses.' Now theres an idea for another forum.... all about people on high horses....I'm off to join now !!!!!!! ...........

I agree - if you dont like it here then we bid you farewell and hope that you find what your looking for elsewhere.

Personally, I've been here for a year or so (so not as long as some of the old timers) however I still find much amusement and information from the threads.  I have never proclaimed to be an expert and I have asked plenty of what seem to me as being basic/silly questions.  However I have found that the advice offered has always been helpful and practical.

I think that some people forget the fact that this is a "community" and therefore it goes without saying that some people have been here longer than others.  I've never had the feeling that I'm outside the "clique" as I don't believe there is one.

I think that rather than bitch about people and their responses people should look at the bigger picture.  This is a forum based on sharing experiences and information.  If people don't like what they hear then they are more than welcome to go elsewhere to gain further insight.

The people who contribute to this board do so freely and therefore should not be persecuted for their opinions just because others do not agree - this is a free discussion board and everyone is entitled to their opinions AND given the ability to voice them when asked for advice should be allowed to do so freely.  It is then up to the individual whether they decide to take the advice on offer or not.

I feel that in the light of the world as it is there are far greater things that we should be worrying about than the odd reply to a thread.  Come on people - get some perspective!!!

There are many forums on the net ...and many different types.I am a member here and a member of other 'fluffy ones'....CD is IMO for straight talking INFORMATION rather than the 'ohh a pitt bull ...isn't he cute despite the fact you're breaking the law' or 'oh you've bred a litter of X x Y puppies with no health tests...how cute are they'...I know which one I have learnt most from.
Sometimes the truth is hard to hear...yes ,maybe we should sometimes be more polite and at the end of the day I'm sorry if it puts people off joining ....c'est la vie?

Well put Archer. I go on some of the fluffy sites for light relief, but I come here for practical information from people who really know about all aspects of owning dogs.

What are the names of the "fluffy" sites?

Just want to put something straight...I'm not running these sites down. They are good at what they do and I enjoy the 'chat' but there is not the straight talking you get from CD...and at times its no good beating around the bush.
Csmad...if you want I will PM you the sites

Hi Guest.

This site is HELPFUL - USEFUL - HONEST not I grant you always the answers you want to hear - but if you ask a question would you rather have the truth or be soft soaped? I would want the truth.

I am a member of other sites as well as here.
Sometimes people get on their high horses sometimes they don't - everyone has an off day whatever site they belong too. I find most people to be helpful what ever site they belong to and this site is no exception - in fact - on here you always get a response. Because members of this site have such a wide  wealth of knowledge from which to draw.

When this site was hijacked in an attempt to hurt me and my family. everybody came to our defense. people who only knew us by name and not by association defended us.
We are not heavy posters, but when we do post we expect straight/honest talk. if you don't like what is said, put over your point of view or experiance, people listen to sense not slagging off.
We are here to protect our beloved dogs, pedigree or mix,
Thats my say
Terry
