It's always best to leave at least a season in between.  Ask them why they want another litter so quick?

Just remember that you can just say no to your dog being used.

I'd probably say that I only use the stud on bitches where I think it'd be a good combination. My stud has to compliment the bitch and vice versa. Hopefully if one dog is slightly lacking somewhere, it'll be the other dogs best feature etc I'd probably compliment the bitches good points but say something about their tails being all wrong together or prattle on about the possibility of incorrect jaw sets etc You don't need to put down either dog just fib about their puppy potential, make them think you're doing them a favour ;)

Sorry, I wouldnt beat about the bush - I would tell them straight that there is no way I would encourage someone to do a mating which is bad for the bitch's health, so they can not use my dog. Refer them to the breed club for advice and I would also let evreyone I could, who owns a stud, know to be wary, as they may well not admit it is a back to back mating to the next stud owner. But thats me! :D :O

I can only see one or two scenarios where breeding on succeeding seasons would be acceptable.  The bitch had just one pup in the last litter.  The bitches last litter all died soon after birth (though the reasons for this would need to be ascertained to be sure it wasn't likely to happen again).  The bitch has long inter season cycles (10 months or more) and waiting for another will mean the bitch or dog may be too old, or the timing very bad for some reason.  Here I would consider mating after a 10 month period for example.  Otherwise why the hurry????

I think it depends on the time from her last season.

My girl gos allmost 9mts between seasons & as she reabsorbed her last pups we have mated her again this time around.(fingers crossed)

If she had given birth to live pups, then I would not think it was fair to breed her again on her next season.

I know a few people who will breed every season :-(  There poor dog allways looks pregnant.
