I am new to breeding dogs so can someone please tell me how it works for getting your pups KC regd?
I own the dog and the bitch and they are both pedigree and KC reg what should I do once I have bred them? Do I write to the KC or do they have a website? how do I register the puppies?
my bitch isnt due season for another 6 months but i want to plan ahead and make sure i get everything right. I would like the pups to be registered in my own kennel name affix how do i do that please?

I would suggest that the first thing that you do, before you breed from the bitch and dog that you own, is to check with your breed society that both your dogs are GOOD examples of the breed, and that the lines are compatible. Unfotunately, it isn't just as easy as putting a dog and a bitch together - you want to ensure that you are not putting two lines together that may have health problems - you are planning on the necessary health checks for your breed - you don't say what your breed is, so can't suggest them to you.
So, make contact with your breed society (you should find details on Champdogs, or Kennel Club sites), look at the breed standard and health requirements. Check those out. Apply for your affix, by all means now. Go to some of the upcoming shows, see other dogs of your breed. You will be very fortunate if you HAVE been lucky and got the right stud for your bitch living right thre with you!
Get a copy of the Book of the Bitch, if you haven't already got it - it is soo useful.
Oh yes - and register with champdogs, then you can answer our questions - no doubt you will get a grilling - but we ask questions in order to give you the right answers!

If you go on the KC website you can download the nec. forms for registering an affix and then also the forms for registering a litter.
Don't want to put you off but are the dogs both health tested for any problems that the breed may have? Also have you spoken to breeders to ensure that they meet the breed standard.
Good luck on any future pups, but it's a lot of hard work and things don't always go the way that we would like them to. Though when you see your pups years down the line it's definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to Crufts next week as 4 of the pups from my last litter are going to be there, can't wait :d

Hi Guest
You may also find that, despite your dogs being KC reg, the breeder may have put endorsements on them, so you won't be able to register any puppies unless the breeder lifts them. It will tell you this on your registration documents.
