I am looking for information in relation to the working bearded collie. In particular how it differs from it's cousin the bearded collie. ie does it shed it's coat, does it have the same temperament.

If anyone could post a message with any information I would be greatly appreciative.

Working beardies have the same coat as the original beardies registered with the KC & no most of the modern KC beardies who have been bred to have an excessive(to me)length of coat. There are some modern KC beardies with the coat that fits the breed standard but they are few & far between, however they both do shed both under & outer coat

The working beardies are also not so heavy in bone or body. They are NOT the cousins of KC Beardies but more like the ISDS BC in relation to the  KC BC

They tend to be "sharper"in temperament not nasty just less forgiving as they are bred to work & not be house pets. I would not advise you to choose one as a family pet unless you are going to work it as they as previously mentioned they are bred to work & need a lot of mental stimulation if they are going to be happy
