Please can someone advise me if Tardak might turnn coat colour? My border collie developed a red almost aubergine colour, we thought it was due to the sun but my other dogs were out in the sun also, no colour changes in them.

My vet mentioned in passing the site of the injection might turn the coat red! Looking back on it Joe's coat changed about two years ago when he started his Tardak.  Now this may well be just coincidence but interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this problem. I now cannot show him because the colour is so bad.

Never known it, is it a red/brown Collie?  they sometimes go orangey in the sun as do chocolate Labs and some brown Dobermanns.

I have never known anyone use it on an onging basis only at specific times when a bitch is in season etc, and none of thoise dogs coats changed colour, and you would notice this in an Elkhound.

I was surprised that it's being used like that. I don't believe that the long term giving of any medication is desirable unless it is for a serious medical condition. I wonder why the vet perscribed it in the first place?

One of my border collies has a red tinge to her coat, its quite strange, it isn't to do with being faded by the sun but at times it does appear more brighter than at other times. Sometimes shes black but other times her top coat (ie not her undercoat) is a dark red colour! She's never been on tardak or anything like that and it hasnt seemed to affect her in the show ring! Her breeder said that it means she carries the red gene or something but I'm not sure about that!
