my boxer bitch is 4 years she was gaining alot of weight so we pout her on a diet still gained,so took her to the vets who diagnoised under active thyroid,she now on tablets for that,she is nearly completely bald down her back and along her sides she been on tablets about 1 month,she did weigh 34.1 kg s now 31.4kg,she has started barking during the night for us to let her out for toilet and on occasions has soiled the house and been sick during night,i called vets yesteday,who then said she is showing early sign of kidney failure (that was new news to me ) he wants to try her on special kidney dog complete food,she looks so depressed and im worried sick,has anyone any help info

hi i also went through the same with my last boxer she was 11 when she was diagnoised with uat our old girl lost nearly all her hair it never grew back even the patch on her leg that they shaved for blood tests never grew back .. she was fine on drugs for uat but did become slightly incontinent but that could have been her age sadly she started taking seizures at 14 and died i would try the kidney diet i did know a dog on it and he seemed to do well
