Hi,
I would like to know if a long-haired chihuahua dog, is okay for allergie sufferers. They are soo adorable and I want to know if I can get it.

thanks. :)

Hi Guest,

Like anything it obviously depends what the allergies are to ..... If it's long coated dogs then no - I would think you're looking at the wrong breed if not the wrong species entirely :(
I have a friend who's daughter is allergic to ANY breeds which moult (regardless of coat length) but they own a breed which doesn't ever moult and the little girl is absolutely OK with that.

Think you should either a) first speak to your doctor who is treating the allergies and get his opinion or b) if you know that long haired dogs are not a specific allergen then join up here and post more specific data so that others may be able to offer some suggestions.

Regards, Teri :)

i dont know if this will help, but my little girl has an allergy to cats ,so i assumed she could be allergict to dogs to. we got a long haired daschund and shes been fine with it.and my nephue has bad asma but he has also been fine with the dog! you could try it but if you did turn out to be allergict, could you possible give the dog up?
