Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / help Dog barks at the telly

My 14mth cavalier barks at any animal on the telly, he jumps up at the telly and he has even managed to turn it off a few times. I have tried removing him from the room for a couple of minutes but as soon as I let him back in to the room he starts again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as he has now started barking at the football and this is driving the hubby round the bend.

My cocker would really quite like to have a good bark through the living room window at the cats that congregate in our cul-de-sac, the thrown out the room system has taught her this is unacceptable but it does take persistance particularly with a stubborn dog ;) I would recommend that you do it consistantly at the very first peep and do not let them back in for at least five minutes, while they mull it over :).  Even now I have to occasionally repeat the action although mostly she confines herself to grumbling under breath before quickly leaping away from the window when she spots me looking at her.
