How many people out there named their dog, "tiny", "flea", midget, or runt....to find it became the biggest of the litter?? :D :D
I've seen it happen many times... even to my family!!! Actually, it was my parents with a lab long time ago. "Flea" probably turned out the largest because of all of the babying he recieved instead of having to fight for his supper like the others :)

Hi toodles I will never ever give the wee ones again untill ive run them on
The first one left go to pet home , [wonderful home ] was so small I called her mini , she is a full standard show quality bullmastiff , was small for 3 mths and then shot up .The second one was even smaller at two weeks the same size as a baby mouse , we called him mouse .HE is now a gorgeous 8 month show quality dog :( dizzys tracker grew on as well, just shows you never can tell the end result . the saying goes you pay your money and you take your chances , lol heres me owning the two of them with every chance , and I let them go shucks from now on the next weeny stays untill im sure . How sweet Mari.... It does make me laugh though when I see someone requiring a show quality puppy that will win championships :D :D :D :D How can you ever guarantee such a thing????? You just can't. It's a gamble, so just fall in love [$ appreciate your puppy ])

I let a smaller rott pup go to a home, they brought her back for us to see and she was as big as the one we had kept.
The biggest pup doesnt always stay the biggest and same goes to the smallest.I do think the smallest ones also have a bit more about them character wise.

I let the smallest of my last litter go to a show home praying that the one I'd kept wouldn't get tooo big - she came back at 10 mths and was bigger than the one I'd kept - u can never tell.

No matter how much advice you get in the end it comes down to your gut feelings and in this case you are probably right. Only you know your home circumstances, if you think the pup would not have fitted in you are right to wait for another you feel comfortable with. All the best with your search. Jackie H

I hope the little ones will grow as big as the other's, I have a real littley in my litter. "Babybird" my sister calls her, but weaning is helping her, thankfully, still a long way to go but she still plays with her bruv's and sisters despite the size difference.

Christine, my cocker was, I would guess, 4/5 of the size of the rest of the litter, who were all much of the same size. She is now a good sized bitch possibly a little big for some tastes. (She was and is the bossyist too Sam :))

Callum was one of the smallest in his litter and they sold him to me cheaper because of this, now he weighs 40kgs and could still put more on and is very tall and long, so it doesnt mean that if they are small as puppies they will stay that way.

in one of my last litters we had a small bitch, their were 6 in all. they were all the same size but her (she was not small in the begining but did not thrive until weaning) she was the boss and she rulled the lot of them.
we called her Tich and they kept her name (she looks like a funny tich)
Bobby
PS she is now bigger than all the other bitches and of one of the dogs
3 bitches 3 dogs

I know this isn't exactly dog talk- but it is related to your question- At school I was one of the smallest- all my friends were a good few inch taller than me then when it came to us leaving I shot up a bit and am now a good few inch taller than them- I'm not particularly tall- 5ft 7- I must just have small friends (5ft 4);)

LOL Stacey.... reminds me of my high school years. My best friend was Thai [$ English. She was only 5 feet tall. I was/am 5'9 & loved wearing 3-4 inch spike heels. We made quite a couple going down the halls there ]) Haven't been able to tolerate anything over an inch in heels for the last 10 or so years :( Those were the days.... if I knew then what I know now + the healthy normal sized body I had then -- I'd be in hog heaven :D

No the puppie was small but the factor that I worried about mostly was he seemed very shy and went back into his kennel when all the rest stayed out ,He may have been tired but I just had this gutt feeling he was not for us.But in the future the little pup will not worry me.
