I am really annoyed and upset and just had to get this off my chest and also warn other breeders or anyone thinking of breeding and selling puppys.
I sold a westie puppy to a really nice (so i thought) couple 2 weeks ago and they seemed so nice, they had all the right answers to my questions and passed the vetting. they live not far from me and i wanted to see how puppy was getting on so i popped by yesterday and got a real shock, both the man and his wife were out at work (i was told they worked from home) and the puppy was in the back garden barking i was so angry i wanted to take the puppy there and then so i rang them and got the husband and i told him my concerns and tryed not to loose my temper but it was very hard he said they had been thinking of phoneing me to say they werent coping very well with the puppy and would i take him back and give them a refund of there money. I told him i wold take the puppy right there and then so i took him home with me and wrote them a cheque and took it round to them later on, i couldnt hold back any longer and i told them i was disgusted with the way they had treated the puppy and that he shouldnt have been put outside like that and they slammed the door in the face one they got their money.
this is a warning to anyone who breeds or anyone whos thinking of breeding, please please be very carefull who you sell your puppys to, i was fooled by these nice sounding people and i am so scared of this poor puppy having to go through that again i am just going to keep him. you can never know what someone is like so be very carefull who you let your puppys go to and make sure you do follow up checks to make sure they are ok in their new homes.

Poor little puppy, I glad you got him back.  At least he's back in a loving home now.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to be 100% on who you are selling to all you can do is do the best you can.  I had a very narrow escape in my last litter when the couple I was speaking to for 6 weeks and were due to visit to pick a pup suddenly dropped into the conversation they were buying the dog as a 'toy' for their 7 year old child.  I actually felt ill thinking they could have ended up with one. They could not see why it was wrong and that no dog is a toy for a child.  At least your puppy is back safely with you now.

Glad they let you have him back, and didn't get nasty about it as some do. Vetting potential owners is the very worst bit about having puppies - some people just aren't what they seem. Hope he settles back with you without trouble.

I'm so glad you got your little boy back.  People laugh at my family because of the way we treat Roxy (and any dogs we've had that are no longer with us), but it is my honest opinion that anyone who treats their dogs any differently shouldn't have them.  Why get a dog if you're not going to love and cherish him/her?
