OH picked up the takeaway on Saturday and put the box on the car seat needless to say it leaked and now we have a yellow passenger seat. I've been out with carpet cleaner which has helped but it is still very greasy I suppose its the ghee has anyone any ideas on what I could try next.

I think you'll find Curry is a permanent stain, all our insurances in our home everything is covered except curry as it can't be removed.  Even our 3 piece suite is covered for every stain but that.  My niece dropped curry sauce on her mums carpet, she had carpet specialists in to try and remove it, but they couldn't budge it either.

So I think you may have a permanent stain there..............I hope somebody can help!

Good luck

On my leather 3 piece suite there is a clause stating that curry stains are excluded from the insurance............so if anybody else has a DFS suite, read the small print!

Have you got protected no claims bonus on your car insurance as surely you should be able to claim ?

It was an accident rather than deliberate :D

well my sister in laws family are from maritius and live on curries and her mum who is wonderful told me the best thing for curry stains in washing up liquid. put a generous amount on the stain and leave it to dry and then scrub it off. it is best if it can dry in direct sunlight but if  its in the car this may be hard and i also think its best when stain is new but give it a go it has always worked on kids clothes after a curry
