Guest please think again.  This is not the way to breed responsibly, and to deliberately consider crossbreeding is even worse.  why would you consider an unregistered dog.

Your priority if breed you must should be to produce sound healhty typical pups of good tmeprament, this is not the way to do it.

You should forget breeding this season and embark on some serious research;
to determine if your bitch is of sufficient quality to be bred from.  this can be done by getting several expert opinions from Akita judges and breeders.

Then you bitch shoudl be Hip Scored and go through any other breed related health tests.

You will then need to fidn a stud that is suitable to improve on your bitches weak points and complement her good points.

You are best to see dogs at a show where you can see what they have produced to other bitches.

Akita's already ahve a serious rescue problem, as these are not the kind of dog for a Novice owner.  Crossbred puppies not having their own breed welfare to help with specialist homing will fare even worse.

Do you really want o add to the canine and human misery iresponsible breeding and buying causes????

You know what most frightens me about this is someone has let this person have a powerful dog like a Akita in the first place.  I pray to god they do not find someone stupid enough to mate with their dog. The stupid thing is if they are doing it for money they would get more money and better buyers for their pups by using a decent stud dog not to mention proper back up but I suppose mentality of this type has not worked that out.

Oh dear.
I am guessing this bitch as no health tests done, the owner has no research done into her background, pedigree and the temperaments of those further back in that pedigree. She may be under 2 years of age too, in which case her health is going to be put at further risk through breeding her than she would have been already.

You can guarantee a stud will be found, of poor quality and again with no health tests done.
And subsequenlty there will be yet another litter of pups brought up with no knowlege of the breed, sold on to unsuspecting members of the public who will be left to pick up a hefty bill should there be a few nasty health problems lurking in there.

It saddens me that people cannot take the time and effort to read a couple of books and plan properly for a litter, parting with a couple of hundred pounds for the basic hip and eye scoring.

Andofcourse, should all the things thedark forsees occur, then the members of the public who've purchased these puppies coud well sue the  breeder as they could well be held responsible under law for supplying goods not fit for the purpose .....

Good point Digger, i forgot about that lol.

The good thing about this post is that it was placed on Champdogs where I'd be very surprised if it got a valid response. The lack of contact details makes me suspect a 'troll' ;)

Wind up.
Dawn.

I take it there are a lot of wind up posts on here?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 27.02.05 21:13 UTC
It can sometimes be hard to tell, and I am sure is behind some of the reputation some think we have on champdogs on being hard on guests who ask controvercial questions or about breeding.
- By archer [gb] Date 27.02.05 21:27 UTC
or breading of course Brainless :d

Apart from the spelling mistake - I don't see what is wrong with that question (the breading one) - unless I am missing something ?? Some of the responses were more juvenile than some of the WUMs that people are complaining about :(

But how do you know that the questioner isn't serious ?

Archer - I was referring to another thread entitled 'Dog Breading' - not this thread.

This is exactly the problem Daisy. We read so many from obvious WUM that sometimes the person wanting serious advice is not taken seriously. One of the reason all WUM should be lined up and shot!

Just a thought but would it not be better to just ignore them then they would get bored with it?  I just dont quite understand how they manage to find their way on to this message board.

Champdog Posts come up a lot on search engine.  Of course soem of the terminology used makes them likely to come up on searches by immature si9lly folk.  Like the name for a female dog, references to reproductive organs or acts etc.  Though from the knowledge of some posters about breeds it would seem they do want to annoy dog folk too, unless they glean this inof from the search facility, but I doubt that level of intelignece in the first scenario.
