Its a cross breed....so about £50-£100 IMO..However I would never buy from someone who deliberately breeds crosses as its just encouraging the 'trade'.I'd rather go to a rescue kennels

well it was an acidentle cross, the lab ran off and mated wiv wiemer and all the other puppys were drownd by owner disusting isnt it and this women quickaly bought the last cross of the man and now cant keep it so im thinking of buying it . she's selling for around £100 and it is a realy sweet dog

£100 would seem to be a fair price for a cross-bred pup from such a mating. I suppose it's too much to hope that either parent's had any health checks (like hip-scoring or eye-testing) done? Bear in mind that you have no idea which parent it'll take after, and it could be a nightmare to train.

Having the pups put to sleep would have been quite responsible actually, (a big litter of crossbred pups like these would not have been easy to home with knowledgeable folk) though if they actually drowned them I think that it is ilegal.
Frankly as you have been offered an older dog from it's second home I wouldn't expect to pay more than I would from the local resuce centre (£50 to £100).

Too much if it was £25. An HPR crossed with a retriever? Why? There would be no sense in it.

I wouldn't think I would like to buy a cross-breed of this mating. The weimaraner is a HPR breed, bred to hunt. The Lab is "just" a retriever ;) . However, if you want one, and can find one, make sure that you get one from health tested parents. You really won't know if you are getting a good one or not, even from healthy parents, as you won't know which side the pup will take after most. As for cost, I wouldn't pay the price of a full blooded pedigree, but would expect to pay about half price. After all, the breeder has still had to feed, worm and generally care for mum and pups.

By the sounds of it Lindylou the breeder hasn't cared at all, so wouldn't pay half the price of the usual breed. I'd say £100 was reasonable but I wd. be questioning why the second owner wants to sell it?
If you can honestly say you can offer this dog happy permanant loving home have him/her and love them £100 isnt alot for a life long friend. I dont agree with the cross breeding or drowning pups for that matter but its not the dogs fault he was born, Take time to train him and you could end up with a nice dog. If the dog has any problems as long as you feel you can spend the time to solve them look no further and offer him a more stable home than hes in.
I should have said I would pay a maximum of half price for a cross breed, BUT I don't think I would really pay that. It would have to depend on the cross. In this case I think £100 is ok if the OP has had dogs before, and knows how to train a dog of this type. It could go either way. You just don't know enough about the nature. This is why I would go for a pure breed every time. At least you have an idea of where to start.
