Im having problems in finding an old english sheepdog stud for my OES bitch to breed with, we live in plymouth, devon so ideally the stud would need to be within easy reach, and be screened for hips and eyes and be KC registered. if you can help with this enquiry please contact me at bnever2busy2b_beautiful@hotmail.com, Miss kelly.

Distance should not be a proirity....you require a health tested dog so I assume your bitch has suitable results from her health tests.Try contacting her breeder if she came from a reputable source who will assess if she is of a good enough qualityto breed from and then will asist you in finding a stud with a compatible pedigree

Lol, ive known people travel to Germany for a stud!!!! Since you can get from Lands end to Jona Grotes in 16 hours i think its a little tight to say "must be local". Ok it costs but unless you have your own CH stud dog and a compatible bitch its going to cost anyway! I have made it from the top of Scotland to London in 12 hours, with 2 dogs in the car and on £240 petrol. Thats nothing compared to the other costs you'll have with breeding a litter i assure you!

If you do not have a knowledgeable breeder you might also try your breed club secretary.  They should be able to guide you in the right direction. Got to agree with the others though that you might have to travel.
