hello  can you tell me if there is breeders of golden retrievers or flat coated retrivers in the isle of man or where the nearest breeder is - i have a5 year old golden retriever but want  a friend for her -- thanks

I think you should first decide which breed you really want as the two can be very different the flatcoat being an active dog, and the golden is often more placid.

I agree with Polly, having worked for someone who bred both Goldens & Flatcoats.  They may just seem like Retrievers of different colours, but that not where the differences end. Goldens need good exercise, they enjoy people, and like something to keep them occupied. Flatcoats need all this - and then some!!!

Of course, the nearest breeder may not be the best breeder!  

I do suggest you visit a friendly nearby flatcoat owner first, to see just how bouncy they can be!   (If you email me I can give you a few names).     When you have made your mind up, do ask the breed club for whichever breed you choose for a list of reputable people who have pups expected, and they will be pleased to try to help.
