Hello
We are looking to buy my mum a miniature schnauser pup as hers recently passed away, but have found two litters in/near the midlands costing £650 and the other £700. Both litters are pedigree KC reg but not champions or showing dogs. Poppy her original schnauzer cost £450 and the prices seem very high! We don't want to get ripped off, does anyone know what is a fair price for a pepper and salt mini schnauzer (dog)
Thanks very much
hi i know someone who had mini s puppies and she was only charging bout 450 for hers, register and ill be able to send you her detailes if i can get them off her as at the mo i only have her screen name!

I paid £500 for my S&P Mini Schnauzer Pup two years ago, at the time i contacted lots of breeders and the prices ranged from £300 to £800, I would say that £500 is about right, the litter were of good parentage with champions in the line etc and were show/pet quality.
Schnauzers are very popular dogs so i wouldnt expect to pay £700 for one, In my experience the location seemed to make a difference on the price, so you might find it useful to broaden your search to help you find the right breeder, pup and price.
We did a 5 hour round trip to see our pup a number of times before we collected him. The cost/time was well spent, we were very happy with him and his breeder. I found the Schnauzer Club of GB helpful when i began searching for a pup http://www.schnauzerclub.freeserve.co.uk/
Maybe there will be some breeders on here who can give a better idea of the current prices.

I wouold say that prive seems high for pups from parents that aren't shown, why were the litter being bred?
Your best bet would be to contact the breed club for a member that has or is planning a litter. The secretary will be able to advise you what you should expect to pay.
My friend breeds and shows them he told me to expect to pay £700.00. I suppose as with everything in life a dog is worth whatever you are willing to pay for it.
ive just receved a email of the breeder, she said she has 1left.but 2 people are coming to view it at the weekend! hers go for £350 for boys and £450 for girls.sorry i couldnt be more help. hope you get 1!
