Hi everyone just a question on dog foods has anybody tried James Wellbeloved dried complete I have a dog with a liver problem that is recovering well he is currently on a veterinarian diet of chicken & rice but waiting for another blood test in a couple of weeks he might be ok to return to him normal food, after talking to my local pet shop about his food he recommended changing from my beta adult chicken & rice to the James Wellbeloved turkey & rice as it might be better for his liver he did give me a few sample packets to try but he cant eat anything else but his diet for now, but iv never heard of this brand before had anybody had any experience using this brand? Any advice would be appreciated thanks

Hi nettie,
Yes our Bichon Frise is on James Wellbeloved lamb and rice because he sometimes gets an itchy skin and always has itchy ears. It is meant to be an hypoallegenic food for itchy skins. I know of a few people that feed it to their dogs and apparently James Wellbeloved is now owned by Royal Canin (according to our local petshop owner) They do quite a few other flavours as well and can be found in most pet shops and Pets at Home stores too.

Hi, Kizzy was ill a few weeks ago, and has just changed from the perscription diet to James Wellbeloved, Turkey and Rice, on my vets advice. She would stand on her head for it if she could. Have not known her eat so well for a long time. She hasn't been on it long enough yet for me to report anything good or bad. Viv
I feed my four on it and their coats have improved since I started using it. One of my puppy people had a dog that was hyperactive and he has certainly been calmer than he was. As dried foods go it has been the one I have been most impressed with.
I started to feed my oldest Flatcoat on JWB Turkey & Rice after his first bout of Pancreatitis 4 years ago and he has been on it ever since. I was so pleased with it, I changed the others onto it too and they took great. I have tried other foods on the others, but have always come back to JWB. Mine are all on the Turkey.
JWB also do biscuits to go with each flavour of food which helps to keep the cereal intake down. Crackerjacks are for the medium dog, Crackersnacks for smaller dogs and Minijacks for the toy sized dogs. My lot love them!! The food and Biscuits can be ordered direct from JWB at a cheaper price, but they will charge you postage unless you order 75kg, then its post free. I used to order cat (my cats are on it too) & ferret food for friends to make it worth ordering in bulk.
Good luck.

Thanks for you replies it sounds pretty good stuff, I will check with the vet but I think I will change him over to JWB when he's better thanks again
I had said I wasn't going to mess about changing food any more but I really wasn't that happy feeding Burns.
I had tried JWB turkey and that didn't really suit Molly so I read up about the other JWB flavours and decided to try the Fish & Rice as it doesn't contain sugar beet. Well, brilliant, Molly loves it, absolutely drools puddles when its meal time.
Whether it's coincident or not, her coats not shedding quite as much and since shes been on it (8 days) she hasn't picked up any disgusting dead creatures to eat!
I also got a good bargain at the feed merchants, 18kg (15kg plus 20% free) plus a really good freebie JWB zip top storage bag which takes 15kgs all for £27.99 so I think I'm converted!
Wow that's cheap Pets at home do a 15kg bag for £33.99.
Which feed merchants do you use?
My boy didnt get on with JWB turkey and rice puppy food (loose bowels) and I now use Oscars, but I have considered trying the alternative flavours.
I found the Turkey and rice gave Molly loose motions too, but the fish and rice is brilliant, 2 solid poos a day!! This may be because it doesn't contain sugar beet pulp.
Plus I like the fact that it contains olive oil. We all know how good that is for humans so it might be good for dogs too.
Hi Boxacrazy,
I got the food from a local independant nursery/feed merchant. I thought it was a good deal too. The storage bag they gave away with it is excellent. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have much storage I would have stocked up for the year!
Where is this Mrs mop? I usually buy mine from the JWB stand at shows but I am not going to be going to many shows until may? Hope you dont mind me asking but this really is very cheap.
Hi, I bought my Jwb today from a place called Shergolds which is a garden centre/feed merchants near Southampton, Hampshire.
It was advertised as a special offer in the local newspaper. It's a great buy isn't it.
The only thing is, the best before date is June which might be why it's cheap. But hey, thats not a problem for me with a hungry Lab!
