Hello
Im taking my 8mth Staffie to obedience classes with the mind to getting her to ringcraft and then hopefully showing her but she is a complete NIGHTMARE!
We have been to the class 4 times and she is so overexcited to see all the other dogs that she pays absolutely no attention to me whatsoever. All the other dogs are calm but she is constantly trying to get to the other dogs to play and pulls so much she has actually made herself sick.
In recall she ran towards the group of other dogs and totally ignored me.
She doesn't respond to toys and won't play but never really has been into toys, she occassionally will respond with food but rarely.
Am I fighting a losing battle, will she ever calm down???? Its frustrating because all the other dogs are really coming along but she totally ignores me.
The thing is she is the calmest quietest little thing at home she just loves other dogs.

Yes she will calm down. I would advise you though to start ringcraft NOW! If possible keep up the both of them to keep her mind occupied!
the obedience won't do alot of help to get her to ringcraft, but ringcraft will also teach her to walk nicely, stand still , behave and will socilise! (as long as you get to a good club!)
I havent been able to find any ringcraft classes near me. I live in Sidcup in kent so if anyone know where I can find out please help!

Hi Blondiflops
I dont no if this will help but I take my westie to training classes in Erith its run by the North West Kent Dog Training Club..their web site is www.nwkdtc.com.
They might be worth contacting for you to find out the information you require. I no this is local to us maybe its worth giving them a call and maybe they will be able to help.
Hope this helps...good luck!!!!
