Yesterday when we came home from doing the shopping we discovered an empty plastic bag at the top of our stairs with a few crumbs around it. Not knowing what it was we didn't really think too much about it until about half an hour later when our dear housemate  came home, went to his room and then came down and told us that he had had two cakes in his bedroom that had cannabis is.
Glazby had obviously got in there and had found and eaten them. He was incredibly sleepy yesterday and we kept him warm and let him sleep and brought his water into the lounge for him. He moved positions a couple of times and was a bit wobbly on his legs. :-(
This morning he seems fine - ate his breakfast as usual however I was wondering if anyone knows of any side effects I should be looking out for?
Obviously I feel terrible about this whole situation and words have been had with our housemate for being so irresponsible as to leaving such things out when we have a dog in the house who's sole intention in life is to find food. I am now just concerned that this could have possible longer term effects on Glazby?
Can anyone put my mind at rest?

Depends how much he has eaten I guess. I would defintiely call the vet.
He's no idea how much was in them as he didn't make them - a friend had given them to him.
Honestly, I'm so angry with him at the moment - he left pretty soon after the argument and we haven't seen him since as he didn't come home last night.

I would defintiely call the vet. I know of folk who's dogs have eaten it before, but they have been out of it for a couple of days.

Dylan managed to consume a bag of cannabis (don't know how much, it could quite possibly have been empty) a year or so back while we were temporarily living with someone who smoked it. We didn't know exactly when he ate it, just found the chewed remains of the bag while I was cleaning behind the sofa one day

I don't think it had much effect on him, as I definitely didn't notice anything different about him the week or so before the 'discovery'. Of course it's entirely possible that the guy who's house it was chewed through the bag himself without remembering!! (must point out that I don't personally agree with this activity, but we were lucky enough to stay there rent free while getting back on our feet so let him get on with it).
Spoke to the vetinary nurse at lunchtime and she said that he should be fine and just to keep an eye on him over the next 48 hours or so and if we feel that we need to, then to take him down to the vets.
When I went home at lunchtime he was up at the window looking out for me as usual and was his usual bouncy self out on our walk. :-)
He's also eaten all of his breakfast which is really unusual for him - he usually picks at his food throughout the day so we have assumed he must have "the munchies"!! ;-)
He was looking so much brighter but we will continue to keep an eye on him.
LOL a dog that gets the munchies after eating dope! I have to say that there is nothing so sad as a dog with a hang over a friends dog drank apint of cider at a party - you should have seen the look on its face next morning, it was SO sorry for itself and quickly went back to its corner with its paws over its head!
