ive just brought a lab pup , some books i have been reading suggest to have the pup in the owners bedroom in his cage at night and others suggest to leave him downstairs in his cage at night. what would you suggest?

I would suggest placing the cage where you're planning on leaving it providing your pup doesn't keep you up all night whining. The suggestion for your bedroom is in order for the puppy to see you and be comforted as it's sleeping. It's also so you can hear it wake up in the night and you can take it outside. The living room is so that it's in the mainstream of the activity during the day.

I start the way I intend to go on. Me up and puppy down. Often this results in a disturbed night of so but we soon get through that stage.
