Can anyone help me, am looking for a dog fostering service in Scotland (preferably in the west) as have a friend who has a giant breed which unfortunately is going to need fostering for a month or so.  Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Have you tried contacting the breed rescue of the dog as they sometimes have people who will foster.  I work with weim rescue and we have one of two people who are willing to foster dogs for short periods.

Managed to get a couple of the breed rescue numbers so hopefully they can be of help, I know there is an actual fostering service in Scotland though and thought someone might have known the number.  Have also told him to phone the breeder as she may be able to help.  Thanks.

fifi, not sure under what circumstances the dog will require fostering, but is this what you were looking for?  If so, not sure if they will be the best people to help, versus the dog's breeder or breed rescues, but hope that helps anyway.
