Hello Everyone, I would just like to know if it is normal for a bitch to have 9 teats, as I thought they were meant to have the same number on either side, and would this have any bearing in the show ring, or if she ever had a litter is it a 'bad sign' so to speak. Any info would be greatly appreciated, as she is the first girl I have ever owned, as I have always owned dogs so the first heat she had was quite an eye opener as I swear that she had pmt! Thanks from Lynne

I have two bitches with 9 teats (well actually a souble oen one side and one missing from it's proper place) and the other 3 have the usual five pairs.  Many bitches have extra teats too.  Doesn't seem to stop them rearing their puppies.

Hi Lynne, dont worry this is quite normal, all my 5 bitches have nine, and has no bearing in the showring.  As for the PMT thing, yes, unfortunately this is also quite normal :D . Some bitches suffer from this, some dont. Only one of my bitches makes me suffer for this, she is the most moody, sullen, woe is me pathetic, during her season. and we all suffer with her :D . What breed do you have? Why dont you join us?
