How come they have become so popular all of a sudden and why are they priced at over £1000 it seems alot as they dont seem rare or anything. Everywhere i look im seeing loads of them for sale even one that states not show quality was neaarly £2000. My auntyhas wanted a bulldog for years but the price big time put her off.

hi,the bulldog hasnt just become popular, there are lots of them that go for 2000 pound because back yard breeders sell them for large amounts just for profit, they are very hard to breed and rear and if you knew the hard work that goes into them then maybe you would understand a little more, they are so called a man made dog, many of them cant self whelp and cesarians cost approx 500 pounds,i wouldnt mind paying 2000 pounds for one that is well bred and has come from good healthy stock,im afraid if your aunty wants one she is going to have to pay full whack.there is always bulldog rescue for her to apply to,hope this helps you understand a bit more

You could also contact breaders to see if they have a pup which is not good enough for showing which they sometimes sell at a reduced price.

I got my Bulldog from a breader and paid much less than £1,000 as she had a closed Pyrometra and was thus no good to bread from, also are a few years they tend to stop breading from the same Bitch and these are also sold for less

Good luck
