whats the problem with the pc?

Hi,

I've got a CD Rom Drive that will happily play music cd's but will not run setup discs or other CD Roms....... It will recognise the content and happily list all of the files on the disc, but will not run any of the autorun programs, either directly or via 'my computer' or 'run'...

Any help or advice very gratefully received, and may save the life of a very unhappy pc!

I've always found that protonic.com are very helpful and have always solved all of my quandries, full of very experienced tech's, but you'll have to register with them first before they help :)
