I have two dogs a dobe and a terror, sorry terrier both boys and get on great but they constantly chew and rip up their bedding, they have gone through so many blankets, as soon as I put a new one in their basket they start playing tug of war with it. The Dobe will stop when I tell him off but the terrier just goes into a fenzy and runs around the house or garden with it, so then the dobe joins in and the blanket gets ripped to shreds. I am getting fed up with buying new blankets, as all our old ones have been ruined. Has anyone any ideas of how to get them to stop it.
I had a dalmatian that point blank refused to have any sort of bedding but the one thing I did discover was she couldnt shred Vet Bed. Its comfortable, cheap and can be washed and dried quickly.

MINE CHEW VET BED AND IT THE GIRLS NOT THE BOYS
Barney doesnt chew the vet bed he came home with, but he has shredded every spare one that I have bought!!! I dont know why he favours that one (It shouldnt still smell of mum as I have washed it loads of times).

I had always thought that sogs didn't chew vet bed, much to my delight, but for the first time I have one that does and all my lovley green vet bed looks like cheese plant leaves. Wouldn't mind if she just chewed her own, gets expensive when there are 5 to buy new for.
She isn't showihng any sign of growing out of it yet, and I really don't wnat to buy anymore until she stops.
My pup dosen't chew old towels just the expensive comfortable bedding and vet bed around edges
Genuinely shocked by dogs chewing vet beds I thought if there was a way purdy would have managed it but she never has. You live and learn :)

Gemma used to do this.
I ended up going to the Charity shops and buying old blankets from there. When she had ruined one, I just used to throw it away and buy another one for a matter of a few pounds!!!! She has grown out of it now tho. Beano never has chewed bedding.
Lea :)
I have one young dog that chews his bed and anything he gets his paws on towels, sheets, underwear etc you name it. Not sure why he does it? Perhaps someone has the answer?
