I have read and i am absolutely horrified by all of these unacceptable situations that the poor puppies and dogs find themselves in.
Does anyone know what i can do to help ban this disgusting trade appart from not buying a puppy from a pet shop?

Educate everyone! Tell people, how awful these places are, ask local schools if you can give a talk to the children, talk to WI groups, infact any group or anyone who will listen to you, etc.... If you know of one that is not up to standard then report them to the trading standards folk, the envromental health department, etc... Lobby your MP.
A few suggestions to get you going.

Unfortunately it's not only pet shops that they go to.  Wonderful advert in my local well known paper today.  Dogue de Bordeaux X pups and American Bulldogs.  How sad.

Why do they do this to breeds that are hard enough to find the correct owners as a breed on their own without crossing them?

I do not agree with puppy farming!!!!!

But is it right to ask people not to buy puppies from pet shops? After all they did not ask to be born and they are the victums in this nightmare!

If no-one buys them, where do they go?

Just a thought!

I am pleased with myself.
My neighbour ended up with 7 dogs. She was going to breed and make lots of money from it.
I got on to council and would not stop complaining about everything I could.
First it was dogs barking all the time.
I could have coped with that.It was seeing the conditions the dogs where kept in that kept pushing me.
I had already had a solicitors letter of these people threatening  me with an injunction if I didnt stop making unfounded complaints to the council.
I wrote to there solicitor three times and he never had the decency to reply. My complaints where not unfounded as they stated.
Now there is just one dog.I dont agree with how that is kept.
There is dog crap in there yard its got fungus growning on it.Its been there since before christmas.
But I stopped a puppy farmer and im pleased.
I just wish I knew who had sold them the pedigree dogs they had.
In 4 years they have had 18 dogs.

Yes I often wonder what happens to the poor puppies that nobody wants.
We got a dog from a large kennels last year and it was sadly the result of a puppy farm in Wales.  We wasn't meant to be having a puppy but my 12 year old daughter fell in love with one of the puppies and as our other dog was ill with an incurable disease then we ended up getting the puppy.
He is a lovely dog temprement wise although he does have problems with his ears (he scratches them a lot and makes them very sore)

There is a large dogs home about 8 miles from us and I have heard reports that they sluice puppies down the drains there, I just cannot believe that any human being can do this to a little puppy or anything else for that matter, its beyond belief.

If no one ever bought a pup from a pet shop ever again then the people that supply them would cease to find it profitable and would stop.  theri bitches and dogs would get dumped in a resuce centre no doublt or even out to sleep, but that is the fate of many more of the pups ass long as this way of breeding and selling/buying continues.
