just wondering whose dog sleeps up stairs and of what breed they are.
Both my SBT's sleep upstairs in my room...usually in my bed too :D
Keep me feet lovely and warm!
Hi one of mine sleeps upstairs the others are down stairs, they are boxers mind i would never allow them to run up and downstairs using it as a race track as the damage it can cause

Nope - upstairs is a dogfree zone.

We *try* to maintain a dog free zone. But Willis doesn't consider himself a dog and flaunts that rule at every available opportunity. He snaked upstairs a week ago and got into bed between me and J at 2am

Downstairs, with baby gate on stairs to prevent nocturnal creeping upstairs.
They sleep with us in our room when we stay with the in-laws, but don't keep our feet warm. They always gradually creep up the bed until they are on our pillows, if we don't wake up and realise first! They are Westies.

Dobermann upstairs in my room but in her own bed as she takes up all the room if she gets in our bed.

mine sleep's upstairs as well 12 year old mongrel named poppet. she checks on the kids first then comes in our room. she goes downstairs from time to time to check the staffy pup 16 weeks old who is in her crate.
Mine sleeps upstairs next to the bed, but sometime she gets on the bed and me and OH fight to get next to her cause she's a lovely cuddly huge bear (Akita)
Carol
My 2 Löwchen sleep on/in the bed although the younger one waits until about 4 a.m. before he joins us :)
Whenever I see Schmichael in Corrie I thank the Lord for small mercies and small dogs.......:)
Mine has a bed outside my bedroom door.
saves a lot of whining that way lol.
All three of my cockers come up stairs, good job we have a super king size bed.

Upstairs is for Us - supposedly!! Dogs are allowed upstairs by invitation only ......trouble is, some of them think that it is an open invitation - especially if I have just changed the beds & got my lovely white & lavender quilt cover on .... it MUST have a decoration of footprints

Margot
i have 4 yorkies and all sleep in my bedroom 1 at top end another at the end of bed ,belle sleeps in his own bed and my new baby danni she sleeps in her crufts freedem pen they are all yorkies aged from 3 mounths up to 10yrs.
My 2 Rotties sleep downstairs; pup (10mths) is crated at night as he is a bit of a chewer and his Mum has a big comfy bed as she is a lady of luxury, they sleep in my bedroom if my OH is not at home as I feel safer that way lol! If they are upstairs with us my youngest normally wakes me up very early as he is a fidget, his Mum on the other hand could quite happily stay there snoring until 11am; her snoring is another reason for sleeping downstairs!
I don't even allow my cats upstairs, nice to have an animal (and hair) free zone to your house!

My Jack Russels slept with me for 16 years but now I only have Thomas in bed with me when the girls are in season but his tail keeps hitting the bedstead and wakes me up so it is only in emergencies :)
Leo our sheltie sleeps on our bed for a little while but then he gets up and goes downstairs to sleep
my staffys sleep upstairs in bed with the kids

I haven't got an upstairs so mine are confused

Hi
My Basset Hound sleeps at the bottom of our bed, while the Yorkie sleeps right at the top of the bed on my O H pillow.
Carol
Ella, flatcoat, starts the night on our bed (daddy/doggy bonding session is the excuse I get), middle part of night in her bed at the end of our bed and ends on the sofa-bed in the spare room. She likes to move about and most evenings will spend time on every chair and sofa in the lounge and on every inch of floor :)
One upstairs....but in her own bed and one downstairs.

one upstairs with us and one downstairs :)
the dog beds are on the landing out side our bedroom but they only sleep there if we lick them out!! otherwise both of them ( an mongrel and border terrier) sleep on our bed usualy under the quilt and cuddled up to my legs but hey saves on heating bills.
regards charlene
I have to hold my hand up to this one, our dogs sleep with my daughters - a dog each.
No Stairs here! Never fancied a bungalow - but having been in one for 2 years must admit its great not to worry about stairs both with the dog & the kids!

We don't allow Tyler upstairs, we would never get any peace.
Scottie who sleeps upstairs.
She usually gets on the bed for the first ten minutes or so, right on my stomach, whilst I'm watching telly, then when its time for me to lay down and she gets moved, she usually jumps off in a temper and sleeps on her bed on the floor beside me, and usually comes back up early morning when she has decided I am forgiven and stays there until I get up (or in today's case until 4.45pm - I still can't get over that!)
She has been known to craftily sneak up the bed during the night so that when we wake up she is laying there between us with her head on the pillow, just like a human.

All of my dogs sleep downstairs, the only time I let them upstairs is when I want OH to get up, I call him 3 times and if he doesn't move I say 'go wake dad up' and all 5 of them bound up the stairs and jump on the bed with him.............that normally works!

Anton's been upstairs with me for the last few days as he has a poorly ear, ahh bless :d He's so funny, this woolly thing staring down at you when you're half asleep. Must say for a dog that doesn't usually sleep in my bedroom he's been brilliant. Tonight is his first night sleeping with the others again and up to now there's been no noise!

All 4 of mine sleep upstairs in my bedroom-2 bull mastiffs and 2 tibetan spaniels. the littlins' sleep on the bed with me,the big fella's sometimes come up on the bed but they never stay long, not enough room for them to properly stretch out, never mind me

Banning my dogs from upstairs or in any room would be akin to banning my human kids upstairs,i just couldnt do it.They are all by my side all the time, besides my puter is upstairs, which is where i spend most of my free time,i'd hardly ever get to see them if they couldnt come up here :(
Mine aren't allowed upstairs - mums house, her rule! New dog has sep. anx. so I am sleeping downstairs on sofa!
Both mine sleep in the kitchen , sometimes they sleep upstairs as a special treat!
My mum used to share her bed with a great dane, a yorkie and two good sized mongrels. Could be the reason I am an only child :)

my three do.in my room.they can sleep where they want, nell usually is on the bed & flynn underthe bed under my head & tara on one of the dog beds. they could all sleep with me if they wanted but i move about to much in mysleep i think!!!!
nell slleps on the half of the bed but up by my head out of the way of my legs i trhink
I just thought I have a good excuse for having Millie upstairs. If she's left downstairs, she will lay in the hall in front of the front door barking at any miniscule noise she hears (or doesn't hear!) so on the few occasions we have left her downstairs, we have ended up going down to get her shortly afterwards (note, this isn't rewarding her for barking, as its always been her choice if she stays downstairs not ours). Once she's up in our room, she stays quiet all night, but if she's downstairs she feels she has to warn every bit of wind or coca-cola can not to come near her house! So for the sake of our neighbours, we always take her upstairs with us now.

Hey Pip I've also got a nocturnal creeper. My girlie has full run of the house until bedtime. Then she goes to her bed and I close the baby gate. Otherwise she creeps about the bedroom breathing cold air on you (big nostrils lol) and generally being a pest. Wakes you up at 4 or 5am for no reason. I do get up to make sure she doesn't need out but when I get up she goes and lies down. She thinks this is a great game. If she just went to sleep she would be allowed in the bedroom but she just pads about. Having her own bed in her own area means she sleeps right through. Bliss!

2 GSP's both sleep upstairs but on their own bed unless it's the weekend, then we allow them up on the bed in the morning for a cuddle.
Both ours sleep upstairs with daughter (or us if she isn't there) and are often to be found curled up on the bed. They go to sleep on the sette at about 9, get up for a wee about 10 then put themselves up to bed whether there is anyone there or not.
Usually have to wake them up about 9 in the morning and even then you sometimes have to drag the eldest up and she goes striaght back to bed until about 10.30 after she's been for a wee.
