Our dog (15 months) tends to mount his mum in the evening after his tea! Usually we can distract him onto some other activity quite quickly, but his mum is getting very fed up with his behaviour. Most of the day they get on very well, but when this begins you can almost see her thinking, "Oh, no, not him again!!" Is he likely to bother her less as he gets older and more mature....or not???

Funnily enough my two males take turns doing this after tea time :D

Mine to. We have a year old Bichon Frise and its only my husbands arm he takes a fancy to, always after tea :-)

One of my bitches does this to one of her brothers (who gets very miffed!), again, after tea.

Do you all feed once or twice a day? I feed twice and they never do it after breakfast :D Could it be a more mature version of the puppy mad half hour?

My girls all do it to each other although my boy doesnt get involved they treat him with utter contempt anyway bless him.  Always after food.  I have found a squirt of cold water from a water spray stops it when you are trying to watch the TV and they are annoying you.  Do you think it is something to do with dominance why they do it?

My youngster does it to his mum, but only after tea, never after breakfast, although he does do it t her when visitors come.  Maybe that's why only dog people ever come to see us.......

Ho Please Ladies!!!!!!!   Tell me what 'TEA' you are giving to your dogs.   I'll ask the wife to get some for me.

That sounds absolutly revolting.  I am sure that that diet would not work for me, I don't even know how your dogs can get the 'Urge' after that.
No, I think that I will stick with the 'Viagra Soup'.  (NOTE: it dosen't work, but at least it has to taste better than tripe and cold porridge.)

Mine did rather better getting hlaf their normal com,plete and a tub of cottage chees (past sell by date) and my sons uneaten Bascon and Mushroom Pasta :D

My eldest dog (10) does it after his dinner too, out in the garden when they have finished emptying. He never actually mounts Indy, just stands next to him going through the motions! :p Indy, nearly 3, couldn't care less! Both are castrated. The youngest, 8 months, tried it randomly the first couple of days but hasn't bothered since. Thankfully.

Maybe it's something to do with feel good hormones being released after food!?!?

Glad it doesn't affect humans!
