I have looked thru the archives but just wondered if anyone had upto date views about which to go for. My daughter wants some new ones and says GHD but was hoping to get them out of catalogue and they dont stock that make. Any thoughts please :)

Alot of my mates have GHD, around £80, but I went off them after seeing the product recall on Watchdog. I bought a slimline pair of Remington ceramic straighteners that heat up in 30secs for just £17.99 at our local Remington Factory outlet. They're fantastic. My sister reckons they're better than her GHD. :)

Can't be of any help as I have dead straight hair which I would like to at least hold a slight wave or curl but want ever I do is goes straight within minutes
I have the Remington Slimline ones as well, and they are by far the best ones I have used.

Babyliss thermo glass professional. I have a pair and swaer by them, they work miricles. Rimmintons (sp) wet to straight are also very good, a friend swears by them, she has curly hair and hers is dead straight every day all day!

Cheers
I looked at the wet to dry and wondered if they were any good.
I wouldn't have thought so-that amount of heat on wet hair can't be good for your hair-IMO anyway! I also use the GHD ones, but have heard good things about the Remmingtons as a cheaper alternative!

Hi
I can personally recommend Salonsales.com website, they sell different makes of hair straighteners from expensive GHD to cheaper ones.
I bought mine from there over a year ago, they are "Hair tools thermo ceramic straighteners" I
have checked the website, current price £30.20inc vat.
They have variable heat control for different hair types.
I asked my friend whose a hairdresser which were the best & she said Hair tools(she sells them in her salon for £80!!!), also buy thermo protector spray so not to wreck your hair.
Hope this helps.
Sarah

GHD for me they are the only ones that really straighten my hair

My daughter went through about 20 pairs of cheap ones and now she has GHDs and they have stood some abuse from her :-)
I have had the cheaper straighteners and they did nothing on my hair. I now have GHD and they take some beating IMO me and OH use them everyday. I agree with spook about the tresemme heat spray its fab and lasts ages also charles worthington serum is great.
Michelle :)
Are we talking human hair or dog hair? LOL They sound like a great idea for long haired dogs that need a straight coat!!!

I've had some Wahl straighteners for a year or so but feel that they are damaging my hair too much. I am at this very moment waiting for the postman to deliver my new ones !. I ordered some BabylissThermaGlass ones from Amazon (Argos they are £75, Amazon £39 - I guess they are the slightly older model but the description matches the Argos ones for temperature, size etc). They have a 3 year guarantee too which I thought was good.
Val (currently fluffy, hoping soon to be smooth !!).

ghd are the best thats why hairdresers use them i own a pair and they straighten my hair very quick.

i got some babyliss "baby" ones from the hairdressers. they were £75 and are really good.
the new hairdressers i go to uses ghd & the girl i was talking too said the rep said theyd solved the old problem of them blowing up! phew!

Ive been through about 5 sets of cheap ones, ive had my GHD's for nearly two years now and wouldnt use anything else :)

I love my GHDs also and have had them since they first came out.
Try www.lookfantastic.com - they're usually very reasonable.

I don't have straightners as my hair is quite straight enough :) My daughter swears by GHDs (she gets in a panic if she doesn't take them everywhere with her) - she was given them as an 18th birthday present by her friends :)

Really pleased !. My hair is very thick but they've given me that light, soft hair feeling that I only usually get when the hairdresser does it. Anybody want to buy some redundant Wahl ones ?!!.
As I say, Amazon is always worth a look.
