Hi my american bulldog pup chews on his lead when walking him at times although it has lowerd he still does it ive used a small harnesss which stops him even more as its on his back that way.
ive tried the drop and giveing him a toy and ignoreing it.
he is used 2 a lead as i started him on lead from a week after i brought him at 6 weeks.

Try spraying the lead with eucalyptus oil.     Do it before you put it on the dog.  The smell should deter him from biting it.   Or use a light chain lead until the habit is broken.

The problem with a chain lead is that dogs do occasionally hook a tooth in a link of the chain and if the handler does not notice then just a little jerk on the lead could result in a broken tooth. Chain leads worry me. :)

I cured Hudson of this by using a chain lead ....just make sure you buy a SMALL link chain then there is no rpoblem with the tooth being caught
