Hello i have a lab x collie, before he used to do whatever i told him to when i told him know whereas now he dosnt!? hes more bothered about the other dogs then what i am telling him, hes driving me mad!!
HELP!!

how old is he? how long have you had him? what do you do with him?
Is he between 1 and 2 years of age (typically dog 'teenage' years)...when is he most distracted? Have you done obedience work with him using distractions? How are you trying to get his attention?
He is 1 year 10 months, he does agility! Down classes he has recently strted running off and getting distracted by the other dog being there. I use his ball to get his attention, he luvs this! What can i do?

I'd be inclined to limit the opportunities he gets to stick two fingers up at you - which may mean dropping the agility for a while. Keep him on a long line so you retain ultimate control and work through it (this phase too will pass ;))

try doing some obedience training alongside your agility stuff

A TRIP TO THE VET MAYBE LOSS OF HEARING DUE TO EAR INFECTION OR SOMETHING.
Yeah, right! :p
I wouldn't drop the agility training, just practise working through the disobedience with him. Keep him on flexi when there are other dogs about elsewhere to stop him getting it wrong, and work on his attention and obedience at agility where you have the support of your agility trainers and can set up situations with the help of the other handlers. And you won't be so panicky or stressed because of worrying what other people will think, which will speed up the training. If you can control him at agility, you will be able to control him anywhere. I know my dogs are always more hyped up at agility!
There is one thing I learnt through obedience training: If you have a problem with something, work through it, avoiding it only makes it worse. Someone I knew had a collie obsessed with chasing toys, so she never trained anywhere near dogs who were playing or chasing balls. Great - until the day she had a run-off for first place in Pre-Beginners and someone threw a ball near the ring. Bye bye collie; bye bye red rosette!
