Hi Sheila
Please give a warm cuddle to Annie for loving this wondeful breed :-) Re health problems, I would say they have as many as any other breed to be honest. What I do strongly suggest to new comers to the breed is to really look around, chat with as many breeders as possible, go and see Adult Sharpei, as many new comers forget that the lovely bunch of wrinkles will not stay this way for very long, as well as viewing several litters before they make the decision. And definately do not be taking in with adverts claiming they breed "rare colours" for highly overly exaggerated prices :-( And ask as many questions as possible. But people being people will make their own minds up and buy the first they see, usually out of a free paper, and all the advice and help that you gave a few days early, goes right out of the door. And several weeks later you get the very same people calling you to say, can you help us, our dog or puppy is falling to pieces :-( I am terribly honest about my Pei kids and this is why I don't mind helping others out anytime, and keep as much information re the breed on my website for all to see, nothing to hide here, just want to help anyone with a possible problem if I can.
Once again
Thanks for checking out the website and hugs and sloppy pei kisses to Annie.
