Well, he made it home on Thursday. He's been told to stay off the booze, he might not be so lucky next time. Apparently out of every 100 that take ill the way he did only 5 survive, and only 2 of those make a full recovery. :eek: He is still very weak, is unable to use his hands properly, and is slowly regaining his strength.

I now have the problem of telling him he isn't getting his dogs back until I feel that he can cope with them. He wants them back next weekend. The one saving grace, if you like, is that I know where they are, he doesn't :D

Glad to hear that he's back home, let's hope that the shock of all this will help him to recover.  You make sure that you look after yourself though.

Glad to hear your ex is out of hospital fingers crossed , hope you have got peace of mind,they are such a worry
arn't they.My brother also has only drank for a week since christmas,i really dont know how he has  dried out on his own,he sleeps alot,he is also anxious,at least he is trying,he is so thin not a pick of meat on him.he told me that he wants a little black dog,over my dead body would i have  any animal living with him the way he is ,its a shame really as he loves dogs just like your ex.

I can breathe a big sigh of relief. It's awful sitting, watching them go downhill, knowing that you can't do anything.

Sheila, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your brother can do it. My ex has been given a diet sheet he has to stick to. Yoghurts and fresh fruit are high on the list.
