Nope nothing, my puppy couldn't even pass her Bronze Good Citizens
She did all bar one of the tests with flying colours.
The test she failed was the down stay, she stayed for about 40 secs
she needed to stay for 60 secs. She got unsettled by noise and came to her mummy. She had an unpleasant experience on the monday at an exemption show - the show was attached to a Mayfayre and they had a display which fired mini-cannons. Which happened whilst the puppy class
had just gone into the ring and puppies were just being stood. :-I
So at the moment she jumps at any noises that come from behind,
still I'm confident that she'll get there, just we have to take time to build her confidence up again. :)
Then on the way home we got stuck on the M6, unbeknown to us it had been shut since lunchtime due to a serious accident. No newsflash at the showground to advise the exhibitors either.
We were stuck on there for 2 hours, so a journey that took 2 1/2 hours
up took 4 1/2 hours to come back down. :( But at least we got home safely.

I got shortlisted down to the last 6 with Lottie the Rottie in MPB. (13 in class)
First champ show for her and first time I've shown a rotti as well, so was really pleased.

She behaved really well, and the poor love had been sick about 6 times on the way there due to travel sickness!!!

Thank you all,
Kiera got two second places (Mal puppy bitch and Mal Junior bitch) and was a total swine all the time that she was in the ring. She would not stand, she would not walk without sniffing the ground and somehow she managed to find a huge block of cheese which she wedged in her mouth for me to retrieve (not very nice). However, we had a great day and after next weekend she is having a well earned rest from the show ring for a couple of months.
How did everyone else do?
Naomi

Try half a sealeg travel table next time. It really works and doesn't make them sleepy.

Have tried sealegs but they knock her out for nearly 24 hrs.
Yesterday she had anti sickness tablets from the vet but they didn't work.

Have you tried Ginger?
You can try either Ginger nut biscuits (cheapest option)
or root or crystals.

Homoeopathic remedies
Cocculus 6c or 30c To be given approx 15 mins before start of journey.
Tabacum 30c for air or sea sickness.

Hope these may be of use to you.
Kind Regards

Briedog did well, but I'll let her tell you.

I got a 4th with my friends dog, which I bred and his litter came 5th out of 8. Dilita my old girl was 4th in her class and Lana was 5th in hers, so not a bad day really. My other friend won res. best import bitch and I bred the mother to her and the father!
- By briedog [gb] Date 11.05.02 20:25 UTC

Diane, do you know who got best import?
- By dianep [gb] Date 12.05.02 10:25 UTC
Guess, not a Bracco, not a Spanish, ooh I wonder who!!
- By Leigh [gb] Date 12.05.02 10:51 UTC
Just had a phone call for my breed notes:

BB & BIR .....Bracco
BP .... Bracco

3 x 1st places .....well done Diane :-)
4 x 2nd
2 x 3rd
1 x 4th

Another huge entry! Me thinks the bracchi had a very good day ;-)
Konan went BD.
- By dianep [gb] Date 12.05.02 17:04 UTC
Wasn't all there, can't you tell. Full of a cold etc. It was lovely to see all of the new Bracco pups. Actually I have spoken to a no. of other people who were at the show and because Konan was given the card first they all thought he was best import as well, as they say you learn something new every day.

Just think we imports had more of our breed than some of the breed classes.

I wasn't there but remember me posting about some friends who took BIS a few weeks ago (Joanna, Richard & Keir), well they got 1st in Limit Bitch out of 20 dogs!! :-)
- By Leigh [gb] Date 13.05.02 08:15 UTC
Sorry to hear your not feeling to good Diane. Get better soon :-)
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 13.05.02 12:26 UTC
Come on Brainless - tell them about forest. JH
- By Leigh [gb] Date 13.05.02 13:28 UTC
Congratulations Barbara :-)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.05.02 11:28 UTC
I wasn't there but Jackie was. An Elkhound pup that I bred, now two years old, whose owners have just started showing him, after an inauspicious start last Sept at Club open (Last in all classes), at his next show (all breed Open) he won RBIS, and at others since Group places and BOB etc, as well as lower placings .

His first Champ show was the breed club one, where he got a 2nd.
They went to Birmingham his first benched, and all breeds Ch show, and won his class, the CC and BOB!

His owners were gobsmacked, as was I when jackie let me know here!

His name is Barbelka Forest (it was my 'F' litter, and he was so laid back, I called him forest after Forest Gump!!), his pet name is Willis!

Diane
- By Leigh [gb] Date 13.05.02 13:55 UTC
Well the judge must have liked what she saw ;-)
- By dizzy [gb] Date 13.05.02 19:46 UTC
i took the new improved bitch i took back down, she was much admired for her condition etc, -went into the ring and stood a picture, then went to move her and she took a silly turn-leaped, bounced, galloped around, i took her back 3 times ,each time the same, play bowing etc, -albert white [the judge] said ,she just wants to play,---we got thrown out as she never went around yet! :(
shes got skc saturday--not looking forward to it,,ive got someone in canada who wants her, if i get a repeat performance she may find herself with a one way ticket :D
- By Schip Date 14.05.02 10:38 UTC
Dizzy how could u threaten such a thing to your darling headcase?????? Me think's its something to do with the name lol.

You know how bad my dakota has been in the past and you SAW my little green Rosette on Sunday so you know it can be done ......................... ok so I got me a new handler for him whom he adores but not enough to want to play with lol! Whisper sweet nothings in her ears about that loooong trip in a crate on an aeroplane might concentrate her mind lol.

Good luck at the Weekend

PS No blaming it on living with a schipperke for those few mths either lol
- By dizzy [gb] Date 14.05.02 17:27 UTC
nice to of met up with you mandy, and well done on your newly better behaved showdog --shame i cant say the same :) by the way, the name headcase was given to her BECAUSE shes a headcase not the other way around,
weve been out many times since sunday doing circles up and down etc [PERFECTLY] so its a one way flight for her if i get a repeat performance on saturday!!!!!are you going to skc then?
- By lourisma [gb] Date 14.05.02 21:01 UTC
Congratulations to all those who did well at Birmingham and good luck for SKC.
We had a good day with my blue bitch (cocker) passing her eye test and then a 2nd place in her class :-) Not bad for a 12 month old baby! We got chucked in junior bitch from 17 but a good class and she moved better in her 2nd class which the judge said cost her a place in junior!
Not bad for a bitch who wouldnt entertain showing until a couple of months ago!
