Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / what does h.t.n mean on a pedigre?
- By thomas-the-spot [gb] Date 13.02.05 16:23 UTC
Just recieved a pedigree through and it has after two of the dogs H.T.N any idea what it means?  They are dalmatians so not sure if it is something to do with a working carriage dog but never seen it before

NOt my breed and could be wild guessing here but Hearing Tested Normal ? It maybe isnt common practise to put this on pedigrees but it was my first thoughts. Come on JG correct me :D

Didnt think of that one!  Perhaps it was from the days when hearing testing wasnt the norm? You lot are a right bunch of little brainboxes!

hello
to ur answer..that's fine for you sweetheart..but would you sell  at 3 months without injection's? and poms are delicate dogs..and good you have them health checked..then at least you have to proof they have been checked..most pom sellers I have seen and spoken to..do all the above..and there line for any ailments can be checked out..as long as you know all about your proven line..think it depends on how long anyone has been breading.
loveheart.
look through the breeders on pom dogs even most repitable breeders have them checkeckd out..how can you say pom dogs dont need to be health checkeckd? They are more dainty dogs.
but as they grow all sorts of defects can happen..iv read all about them after this problem..and every site has breeders who all have paprers to show there pups have been checkd..may have cleft palets in the line you mate your dam with..any thing as these dogs are frigile as you know.
But if you have a line..you should know all about them as health wise surley? jabs are a must also surley at three months? specialy if you have mom around and dad..as they go into garden, and for walkes..they can carry back to the pups whatever.
loveheart
