could someone please tell me how many pups in a average size staffy litter and also can you please tell me in the days leading up to my girl whelping how will she act/behave

You need to get a copy of a book called 'The Book of the Bitch' by J Evans and K White. It's an absolute bible. Amazon have it.

a stafford can have anything from 1 to 10  or 12 pups but i would say that 6 is average and she will try to look for somewhere nice and warm/dry and dark to have the pups so watch her in the gardan and out on walks and like other will say the book of the bitch is a must

My bitch has recently had 2 but only one survived... you just never know.

when there getting nearer to the time they start getting restless eg they sit down get up.  Your bitch might become more clingy to you needing reassurance. She might also start digging in her bed trying to get the nest ready. When she goes into labour or just before you might see some mucus the plug off the neck of the womb, be sure that some puppies are on ther way.
